Damson Plum Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 baked 9 inch pie shells
    1 quart canned fruit (Damsons)
    2 c. sugar
    6 tsp. cornstarch
    2 eggs, well beaten
    Cool Whip or any desired topping
Preparation
    Remove seeds from fruit; add enough water to make 4 c. fruit and fruit juices combined.
    Add cornstarch to sugar and then add to fruit.
    Cook until very thick, stirring constantly.
    Add small amount of fruit mixture to beaten eggs and mix well.
    Add to remainder of fruit mixture which has been set aside until blended with eggs.
    Return to heat and cook 5 minutes.
    Cool.
    Put in pie shells; top with desired topping.
    Serves 12.
    Makes 2 pies.
