Yeast Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 pkg. yeast
2 c. corn meal
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. flour
1 egg
1/2 c. warm water
2/3 c. milk, lukewarm
1 Tbsp. grated onion
1 Tbsp. oil
oil (for cooking)

Preparation

Dissolve yeast in the half cup of water.
Combine meal, salt, flour and grated onion.
Add beaten egg, oil, milk and dissolved yeast.
Mix well.
Let stand 30 to 40 minutes.
Drop by teaspoonfuls into hot oil and cook until brown.
