Mom'S Garlic Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    cucumbers
    dill
    clove garlic
    celery
    onion
    4 c. sugar
    4 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 to 2 c. water
    1/2 c. salt
Preparation
    Take 4 to 5-inch cucumbers; put in cold water overnight.
    Next morning, slice lengthwise and put in jars.
    Add to each quart jar 1 head dill, 1 clove garlic, 1 piece celery and wedged onion. Boil sugar, vinegar, water and salt; pour hot over pickles and seal.
