Chicken Pilau (Perlow) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    big hen
    slices of ham or bacon
    2 c. rice
    2 hard-boiled eggs (optional)
Preparation
    Place hen in a pot with ham or bacon slices.
    Simmer until well done and remove the chicken from pot and keep warm.
    Take 1 quart of fat stock.
    Save for gravy.
    Add enough water to make 3 cups.
    Add 2 cups rice and simmer slowly until all liquid is absorbed.
    Cut up the chicken and mash the eggs and mix with gravy.
