Filled Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. sifted enriched flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. milk
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add egg and vanilla.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Sift dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture together with milk.
    Roll dough 1/8-inch thick.
    Cut with large cookie cutter.
    Place 1 teaspoon mincemeat in center of each cookie.
    (I use None Such mincemeat by Borden which comes in a jar.)
    Fold cookies in half.
    Seal edges with fork.
    Bake in moderate 350\u00b0 oven for about 12 to 15 minutes.
