New England Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 lb. bacon, diced
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. diced onion
    1 c. diced celery
    1 c. diced carrots
    3 c. diced potatoes
    1 c. flour
    4 c. clam broth or fish stock
    3 c. chopped clams
    3 c. heavy cream
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. parsley
Preparation
    In a large pot, fry bacon until crisp.
    Drain the grease. Add butter and vegetables. Saute until tender.
    Stir in flour. Cook 2 minutes. Add all remaining ingredients.
    Bring to a boil. Reduce to simmer.
    Simmer until thick, 15 to 20 minutes.
    Stir frequently.
