Mexican Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. self-rising cornmeal
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    3 eggs, beaten
    1/2 c. milk
    1 (17 oz.) can cream-style corn
    1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 large onion, chopped
    2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
Preparation
    Combine
    cornmeal, flour, salt and sugar.
    Add eggs and milk, stirring
    just
    until moistened.
    Stir in corn, cheese, onion
    and peppers.
    (Do
    not overmix batter.) Drop batter by the tablespoonful into hot oil. Fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
    Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
