Noodle Broccoli Cheese Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter
    3/4 c. chopped onion
    6 c. chicken broth
    8 oz. egg noodles
    4 c. fresh or frozen broccoli
    1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    6 c. milk
    1 lb. American cheese slices (not cheese food)
    pepper to taste
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Heat butter. Add onion and saute 3 minutes. Add broth and heat to boiling. Gradually add noodles and salt and continue to boil. Cook until noodles are tender. Stir in broccoli and garlic powder. Cook 4 to 10 minutes (until broccoli is soft).
    Add cheese and stir until melted (slice by slice). Add milk and pepper, stirring constantly, until heated.
    Serves 8 to 10.
    Cook/preparation time: 30 minutes. Serve with bread.
    This soup is great reheated.
