Swedish Oatmeal Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. warm water
2 c. quick cooking oatmeal
1/2 c. dark molasses
1/3 c. shortening
2 tsp. salt
2 c. boiling water
Preparation

Soften the yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.
Combine oatmeal, molasses, shortening and yeast.
Add flour to make stiff dough, 1 cup at a time.
Knead about 10 minutes.
Let rise in greased bowl until double.
Punch down and let rise again.
Divide the dough and let rest 10 minutes.
Shape into loaves.
Put into greased pans and grease the top of the loaves.
Let rise until double, then bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes; makes 3 loaves.
