Roode Kool - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head red cabbage, shredded (about 6 c.)
    3 tart cooking apples
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. vinegar
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
Preparation
    In a large pan, cook cabbage, apples, salt and pepper in a small amount of boiling water over medium-low heat, covered, for 15 to 20 minutes or until apples are tender.
    Drain.
    Return to saucepan. Add vinegar, butter, brown sugar and cinnamon.
    Heat through. Stir to combine.
    Makes 8 servings.
