Parmesan Baked Vidalias - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 6 large Vidalia onions
    salt and pepper to taste
    14 butter flavored crackers (like Ritz), crushed and divided
    1 stick butter, divided
    1 c. Parmesan cheese, divided
    1 Tbsp. milk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Butter an 8-inch casserole dish.
    Peel and slice onions into 1/2-inch strips.
