Candy Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1/4 c. cinnamon red hot candies
    8 small MacIntosh apples
Preparation
    In a heavy deep 3-quart saucepan over medium heat, heat sugar, corn syrup, candies, 1 cup water and 1/4 teaspoon red food coloring to boil.
    Cook without stirring to 290\u00b0 about 20 minutes.
