Any Fruit Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar, divided
    2 c. self-rising flour
    2 c. blackberries, strawberries or peaches
    1/3 c. butter, softened
    1 c. milk
    2 c. boiling water
    ice cream (if desired)
Preparation
    Cream butter or margarine with 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add flour and mix well.
    Spoon batter into greased 9 x 12-inch pan.
    Sprinkle fruit on top.
    Add boiling water (don't worry, it works).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Serve while warm.
