Stewed Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. canned tomatoes, mashed or cut up in small pieces
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 small onion, chopped
    1/2 green pepper, chopped
    1 1/2 slices bread
Preparation
    Cook
    first
    4\tingredients together beginning on high, then turning
    to
    low
    heat
    to\tboil about 1/2 hour.
    Cut or crumble bread;
    add
    to
    mixture.
    Cook a few more minutes to thicken. This can be cooked ahead and warmed before serving.
