Southern Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. milk (add enough to knead dough)
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients in large bowl.
    Knead together.
    Add a little more flour if needed, until dough is not sticky.
    Pinch off; shape by hand into biscuits, about 1/2-inch thick.
    Place in greased baking pan.
    Bake at 475\u00b0 until just starting to turn light brown.
