Russian Cabbage Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head cabbage (3 to 4 lb.)
    2 onions
    4 Tbsp. butter
    2 c. canned tomatoes
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 c. sauerkraut
    1 tsp. caraway seed
    4 c. water
    4 beef bouillon cubes
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. sour cream (optional)
Preparation
    Shred cabbage; discard core.
    Chop onions; cook over medium heat for 15 minutes with the butter.
    Sprinkle with flour. Dissolve the bouillon cubes in the water; gradually add to the cabbage and onion mixture.
    Stir constantly until it reaches boiling point.
    Add all remaining ingredients, except sour cream. Cover; cook over low heat for 1 hour.
    (Serve garnished with sour cream; optional.)
