Mint Meringues - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 egg whites
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. chocolate mint chips
    1/2 scant tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    red or green food coloring
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    Beat egg whites until frothy and add sugar. Add a dash of salt and cream of tartar. Beat until stiff.
    Add vanilla.
    Tint with food coloring and fold in chips.
    Drop by teaspoon as close together as possible onto greased sheets.
    Place in oven and turn off immediately.
    Do not open door for at least 5 hours.
    May be left in overnight.
