Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. raw peanuts
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Mix everything, except soda, in a large skillet.
    Cook until peanuts start popping, 6 to 12 minutes, and color starts to turn light brown.
    Set aside and add soda.
    Stir thoroughly and quickly.
    Pour into buttered pan and let cool.
    Break into pieces.
