Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. butter or oleo
    1 1/2 c. jam (your favorite)
    4 eggs, separated
    4 c. plain flour
    1 c. raisins
    1/2 c. applesauce
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream
    butter
    and
    sugar; add egg yolks.
    Add milk and flour alternately.
    Mix
    well
    and fold in beaten egg whites. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
