Divinity Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    dash of salt
    1 pt. marshmallow cream
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    nuts
Preparation
    Gather about a double handful of hoarhound leaves.
    Wash, then boil in a pint and half of water for about half an hour; strain and add 3 1/2 pounds of brown sugar; boil over a hot fire until sufficiently hard-ball stage.
    Pour out in flat, well-greased tins and mark into sticks or small squares with a knife as soon as cool enough to retain its shape.
