Gooey Date Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 c. white sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 lb. pitted dates, chopped
    1 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add eggs and beat well.
    Add flour and baking powder sifted together.
    Add dates and nuts and mix well.
    Spread in a greased and floured pan and bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    When cool, cut into squares and roll in powdered sugar. Will keep for weeks if packed in a tin box.
