Microwave Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large cucumber
    1 medium onion
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. white vinegar
    1 tsp. celery seed or salt
    1 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Slice cucumber into 1/4-inch rounds (2 cups).
    Slice onion in thin rounds (3/4 cup).
    Mix all ingredients in a 2-quart microwave soft bowl.
    Microwave on High for 7 or 8 minutes, stopping to stir twice until cucumbers are crisp-tender and onion is translucent. Ladle into glass jar (rinsed with hot water).
    Cover; cool slightly.
    Refrigerate.
    Makes 2 1/2 cups.
