Golden Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. raw peanuts
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
Preparation
    Spread peanuts evenly in a 15 x 10 x 1-inch jellyroll pan; bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    Set aside.
    Combine soda and salt; set aside.
    Combine sugar, syrup and water in a Dutch oven; cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture reaches soft crack stage (275\u00b0).
    Add peanuts; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture reaches hard crack stage (300\u00b0).
    Remove from heat; stir in butter and soda mixture.
    Working rapidly, spread mixture thinly onto 2 buttered 15 x 10 x 1-inch jellyroll pans.
    Let cool; break into pieces.
    Yield:
    About 2 1/2 pounds.
