Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla
    4 eggs
    3 sq. bitter chocolate, melted
    3/4 c. mashed potatoes (can use instant)
    2/3 c. sour milk
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Sift flour, soda and salt together.
    Cream shortening.
    Add sugar, mixing well after each addition.
    Add chocolate and potatoes until blended.
    Add flour mixture alternately with milk, beat well until smooth.
    Fold in nuts and pour into pan (greased and floured, 11 x 9 x 2-inch).
    Bake in slow oven (325\u00b0) for 50 minutes, until cake springs back when touched.
    Cool 10 minutes.
    Remove from pan.
