Our Favorite Hot Dish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
    1/2 C. regular rice, not instant
    2 C. water
    Catsup or tomato sauce
    Shredded cheese
Preparation
    Brown beef in a skillet. Drain off grease. Add approximately 2 cups water and soup mix. Bring to a boil and add rice. Stir well and simmer with lid on skillet. Add additional water, as needed, if it gets too dry
    while cooking. It takes about 15 minutes for the rice to cook. Serve with catsup or tomato sauce. Top with cheese if desired.
