Ingredients

1 c. milk
1/4 c. butter, melted
1 egg
2 c. cake flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
dash of salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
powdered sugar
2 (10 oz.) jars blackberry jam
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add egg, beating well. Beat in dry ingredients that have been sifted together alternately with the milk.
Pour into 3 greased and floured 9-inch round pans and bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
Remove from pans and cool completely.
After you have stacked and spread the jam between layers, sift powdered sugar over top layer.
