    4 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. quick cook grits
    1 1/2 c. (6 oz.) grated sharp Cheddar cheese, divided
    1/4 c. butter or oleo
    4 eggs, lightly beaten
    1 c. milk
    1 lb. (16 oz.) sausage, browned and drained
