Quick Buttermilk Rolls - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. warm water
3/4 c. lukewarm buttermilk
1 tsp. sugar
3 Tbsp. soft shortening
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/4 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
Preparation

Dissolve yeast in water.
Stir in buttermilk, soda, sugar, salt, shortening and half of flour.
Add rest of flour.
Mix with hands.
Turn onto lightly floured board.
Knead until smooth and elastic.
Roll out flat and cut with biscuit cutter.
Let rise until double, approximately 1 1/2 hours.
Bake in 400\u00b0 oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
Can be made into cinnamon rolls.
Makes 1 1/2 dozen rolls.
