Cherry Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 can cherry pie filling
    4 eggs
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. lemon extract or juice
    10x sugar (powdered)
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, flour and vanilla.
    Blend well.
    Spread batter on cookie sheet.
    Cut the surface of batter with a knife to make 35 squares.
    Spoon pie filling on top of squares.
    Batter will puff up around pie fillings.
    Bake for 30 minutes at 350\u00b0 until golden brown.
    Cut 35 squares and sprinkle with powdered (10x) sugar.
