Farris' Dark Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. raisins
    1 (8 oz.) box dates
    1 lb. candied pineapple
    1 1/2 ??? candied cherries
    8 oz. mixed fruit (optional)
    4 c. nuts
    3/4 to 1 c. flour
    5 eggs
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar (granulated)
    1 c. Wesson oil
    2 c. flour (self-rising recommended)
    2 tsp. allspice
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Combine first 7 ingredients in large bowl.
    Mix eggs, sugars and oil in large bowl.
    Sift together dry ingredients in small bowl.
    To oil, sugar and egg mixture, add flour mixture alternately with 1 (6-ounce) can of pineapple juice.
    Pour batter over floured fruit and nut mix, taking care to mix well.
    Pour into 10-inch tube pan.
    Bake in slow oven at 300\u00b0 for 3 hours.
    Let stand in pan 15 minutes.
    Turn out onto cake rack.
    When cake is cold, wrap in foil and store in covered container.
    Yields 5 1/2-pound cake.
