Layered Salad - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 medium head lettuce
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 green pepper, sliced
1 c. finely diced celery
8 oz. can water chestnuts
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, thawed, but not cooked
4 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
4 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
2 c. mayonnaise
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation

Spread lettuce evenly in bottom of 3-quart oblong casserole. Add layer of onions, green pepper, celery, peas and water chestnuts.
Pack these ingredients firmly into the pan, but do not mix.
Cover the entire top with mayonnaise.
Sprinkle with sugar, salt and pepper.
Next, sprinkle top with Cheddar cheese.
Follow with Mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese on top.
Do not mix. Cover with Saran Wrap.
Refrigerate overnight or longer.
