Sour Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. dry mustard
    1 gal. vinegar
    pinch of alum (in each jar)
    cucumbers
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers; let stand in cold water 3 to 4 hours.
    Pack in jars.
    Mix well the salt, sugar, dry mustard and vinegar.
    Pour over cucumbers.
