Pear Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. peeled pears, cut up
    7 red sweet peppers
    7 green sweet peppers
    4 or 5 hot peppers
    1/2 gal. onions
    1/2 c. salt
    1 1/2 qt. vinegar
    6 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    2 Tbsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Grind together the pears,
    peppers
    and onions; add the salt and let stand 1 hour.
    Drain off and discard liquid.
    Add to the relish mixture
    the
    vinegar,
    sugar,
    mustard seed and turmeric and bring to a boil.
    Boil
    5 minutes.
    Put into pint jars with 2-piece canning
    lids
    and seal according to package directions.
