Custard Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. butter (at room temperature)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 large eggs, beaten
    2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 (10-inch) pie shell
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
    In a mixing bowl, combine the sugar, butter and salt.
    Beat with an electric mixer until smooth. Add the eggs and mix until well blended.
    Add milk and vanilla; beat until smooth.
    Pour the mixture into the pie shell and bake 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350\u00b0 and bake until the pie begins to set around the edges and the middle is still jiggly.
    Let cool, then chill slightly.
