Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter
    2 c. sugar
    3 1/2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cloves
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 c. buttermilk
    4 eggs
    1 c. blackberry jam
    1 tsp. pecans
    1 tsp. dates
Preparation
    Mix eggs, sugar and butter and beat 2 minutes.
    Add jam and mix well.
    Sift in dry ingredients, alternating with milk.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
