Cabbage Casserole - cooking recipe

1 small cabbage
1 large chopped onion
1 large chopped green pepper
1/4 c. chopped green onions
2 stalks chopped celery
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
2 cloves minced or pressed garlic
1/2 c. whipping cream
1 c. bread crumbs
1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
Preparation

Chop or shred cabbage and set aside.
Heat butter and oil in large saucepan.
Add onions, green pepper and celery and saute 5 minutes on low heat until tender.
Add cabbage and garlic.
Cover and cook on low heat for 10 minutes until cabbage is tender.
Stir in whipping cream.
Mix bread crumbs and 1/2 cup cheese and set aside.
Add remaining cheese to cabbage mixture.
Stir in salt and pepper and put cabbage mixture in a 2-quart casserole.
Top with bread crumb and cheese mixture.
Bake at 350\u00b0
for 20 minutes until crumbs are golden brown.
