Mom'S Apple Dumplings(The Best) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. milk
6 small apples, pared and cored
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
dash of nutmeg
1/3 c. butter
1 1/3 c. hot water
Preparation

Sift flour once and measure.
Add baking powder and salt; sift again.
Cut in shortening.
Add milk and stir until soft dough is formed.
Turn out on floured board and knead 30 seconds.
Roll 1/8 inch thick.
Cut in 6 squares and enclose small apple.
Place apple on square; fill cavity with sugar and cinnamon.
Dot with butter.
Moisten edges of dough and bring up over apple.
Place in greased pan.
Pour brown sugar, nutmeg, butter and water in pan; bake 15 minutes at 450\u00b0.
Decrease heat to 350\u00b0 and bake 25 minutes more.
