Ranchero Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef or turkey
    1 medium chopped onion
    1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 c. whipping cream
    1 pkg. corn tortillas
    3 c. shredded cheese (Cheddar)
    1/3 c. oil
Preparation
    In large skillet, brown ground meat with onion.
    Add chilies, tomato sauce and cream.
    Simmer 10 minutes.
    Take package of 12 corn tortillas; stack and cut into thin strips.
    Heat oil in large frying pan.
    Saute the strips, turning often.
    Lightly grease a 2-quart casserole and place half of the strips in it.
    Cover with half of the meat sauce.
    Sprinkle with 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese. Layer rest of strips, then meat sauce and top with another 1 1/2 cups cheese.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 about 25 minutes.
    Serves 6.
