Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. small white navy beans
    1 large onion
    1 can tomatoes
    2 lb. ham hock
Preparation
    Soak beans overnight in water.
    Heat and boil for 10 minutes. Drain.
    Add 4-quarts of hot water.
    Add ham hock and diced ham and finely diced onion.
    Cook slowly for 3 hours.
    Add tomatoes last 1/2 hour.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
