Chocolate Pecan Pie Surprise Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box German chocolate cake mix (not pudding kind)
    1 egg
    1 stick butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. chopped pecans
    2/3 c. reserved cake mix
Preparation
    Pour over crust and place in oven at 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 (depending on your oven) for 45 minutes.
    Cool thoroughly and cut into 2-inch squares.
    Yellow cake mix may be substituted.
