Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    3/4 c. water
    4 stiffly beaten egg whites
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. broken nuts
Preparation
    Place
    first
    3
    ingredients in saucepan over low heat, stirring
    until sugar is dissolved.
    Let cook without stirring until
    temperature reaches 255\u00b0.
    Remove from heat and pour in a fine stream into stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Beat egg whites mixture,
    while
    adding
    sugar
    mixture, until it is no longer glossy and
    it holds its shape.
    Add vanilla and nuts and drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper to cool.
    May top with cherries or a whole pecan.
