Smothered Okra - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 cup Oil
    1 fresh tomato (chopped fine)
    1 onion (chopped fine)
    1/2 cup bell pepper(chopped)
    2 1/2 lbs. cut okra
    1 T. tomato paste
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    In a covered saucepan, smother okra in oil for 15 minutes over medium heat, stirring frequently.
    Add onion, bell pepper, tomato and seasoning.
    Cook for 30 minutes and add tomato paste. Cook for 15 more minutes.
    Ham may be added for flavor.
    Serves 6.
