Marinara Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans diced or crushed tomatoes (unseasoned)
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. mushrooms, quartered
    1 to 2 large garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
    2 tsp. dried rosemary
    3 tsp. dried basil
    2 tsp. oregano
    1 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 to 2 Tbsp. butter
    1 to 2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch, mixed with 3 Tbsp. water
    lemon juice (optional)
    1 boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced (optional)
Preparation
    Place all ingredients, except cornstarch mixture, sugar, lemon juice and chicken, in pan.
    Simmer 10 to 15 minutes.
    Taste sauce and adjust seasonings.
    Add sugar to taste.
    Lemon juice adds a nice zip.
    Add cornstarch mixture gradually until sauce reaches desired thickness.
    Serve over pasta or rice.
