Chow Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 gal. whole green tomatoes
    2 large onions
    1 large head cabbage
    1 bell pepper
    1 large carrot
    3 pt. vinegar
    2 to 3 Tbsp. salt
    pickling spice
    1 3/4 c. sugar (optional)
Preparation
    Grind all raw vegetables.
    Mix vinegar, salt and sugar and put pickling spice in a bag.
    Put all ingredients in large pan to boil 1 or 1 1/2 hours.
    When done, seal in jars for future use.
