Oven Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef chuck, cubed
    1 can tomato soup
    2 large carrots, sliced
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 c. red wine
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 c. celery, chopped
    2 potatoes, cubed
    1/4 tsp. basil, crushed
    1 1/2 c. water
    3/4 c. onion, chopped
Preparation
    Combine on plate the flour and salt.
    Roll the meat cubes in the seasoned flour mixture.
    In a large Dutch oven or pot, melt the shortening and add the beef cubes.
    Add the soup, water, onion and basil.
    Cover and bake for about 20 minutes.
    Add in the carrots, potatoes, celery and red wine.
    Cook, covered, for 35 minutes.
    Remove and serve hot.
