Candied Sweet Potatoes Or Yams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. water
    2 c. sugar
    4 Tbsp. margarine
    nutmeg to taste
    8 to 10 sweet potatoes or yams
Preparation
    Peel sweet potatoes or yams.
    Split in half lengthwise.
    Make syrup of water, sugar, margarine and nutmeg.
    Place sweet potatoes or yams in syrup.
    Lower stove to medium and cook until soft.
    Can be made ahead and reheated.
    Delicious with ham.
    Recipe can be doubled or halved.
