Golden Corn Bread - cooking recipe

1 c. yellow cornmeal
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1/4 c. Wesson oil
Preparation

Sift together cornmeal, flour, baking powder and salt.
Add egg, milk and shortening.
Beat with beater or by hand until smooth (about 1 minute).
Bake in 8-inch square baking pan at 425\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
