Vidalia Onion Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. finely crushed saltines
1/2 stick butter or oleo (for crust)
1/4 stick butter or oleo (for filling)
3 c. thinly sliced Vidalia onions
3/4 c. milk
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp. salt, pepper and nutmeg
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Melt 1/2 stick butter or oleo and add saltines.
Press into a 9-inch pie plate.
Melt 1/4 stick butter in skillet.
Add onions. Cook over medium heat until tender, about 15 minutes.
Do not brown.
Put into pie crust.
Heat milk in skillet.
Beat eggs and add to milk with salt, pepper and a hint of nutmeg.
Heat until hot; do not boil.
Pour over onions.
Add cheese to top and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
