Scotch Shortbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 beaten egg
    grated rind of 1 lemon
Preparation
    Sift together flour and baking powder.
    Cream the butter, adding sugar gradually. Add egg and lemon rind. Combine ingredients.
    Mixture will be very stiff.
    Place into buttered 8-inch square pans.
    Butter hands to spread mixture into corners. Bake at 300\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
