Date Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. dates, cut fine
    1 qt. pecan meats, broken fine
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. cake flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 eggs
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Sift flour and baking powder together, then sift over dates and nuts.
    Pull dates apart to get flour on every piece.
    Beat eggs in different bowl.
    Add sugar, vanilla and salt.
    Beat well and pour over dates and nuts.
    Mix well and pack in well-greased pan (tube pan).
    Bake slow in a 300\u00b0 oven for 1 1/2 hours or until done.
    Better if sets several days.
